Yin is a very slow, still yoga style that takes the practitioner deep into their body and mind. Generally a yin yoga practice will involve very few poses (around four to six for a 60-75 minute class) but the poses will be held for a longer period of time— anywhere from one to five minutes for beginners, all the way up to even 20 minutes for some poses and practitioners. Great for lengthening muscles and strengthening ligaments. (Check out our What is Yin Yoga? blog post for a detailed description of yin yoga!)
